Build 2001-05-16-04: WinMe Build 2001-05-17-08: Linux Overview: Start Mail and very often the focus does not appear in the login/password dialog although the blinking cursor is present. Workaround: I have to click onto the login/password dialog, then I can enter the mail password. Expected Results: Clicking in the login/password dialog with a mouse should not be required. Additional Information: - Mac 9.04: It seems to work better on the Mac.
Marking nsbeta1 because this is a common action performed, also effects accessibility.

compare to bug 76971
moving to 0.9.2. I'm not sure if this is related or not to 76971. It very well could be.

The problem only seems to occur if I start with the "-mail" flag. It's ok if I start the app from the: - icon - or from the command line using just "netscp6" so that Navigator opens, then selecting Tasks|Mail and then the login dialog has focus.

if it's only -mail then removing the nsbranch.

Ninoschka, this was nominated for next releas. I tried to reproduce it wiht 6.2 final and can't. Do you still see this? I tried on linux and winxp, with POP and with IMAP as default mail account. I tried lauching -mail, and using icon in task bar of Navigator, and with Mail & Newsgroups menu item. All (3) were OK. If you can reproduce it still, please show me so I we can update the scenario.
Trunk build 2001-11-06-03: WinMe - Start|Run, path to "netscp6.exe -mail": ok - Start|Run and type "command" so the command line appears (similar to the console screen). Then use "netscp6.exe -mail": fails, since the blinking cursor appears in the password dialog but doesn't have focus since typing produces no asterisks.
It appears that it's only happening to me on my WinMe system and I can reproduce this in a new profile (POP or IMAP). The problem does not appear on Esther's WinXP, Sheela's Win98 or Stephen's Win2k systems.
Ninoschka, does this happen when you click on the desktop mail icon?

Clicking from the Desktop icon is ok.
I can't reproduce it with mozilla0.9.9 I open mail by using "mozilla -mail" in the command window. The focus is in password field... Platform: window 2000 mozilla version:Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:0.9.9) Gecko/20020311
