PROCEDURE
1. Open the browser and browse a web site
2. Go to History tab and click on the url bar
3. Type any character not includided in the url of the visited web site
EXPECTED
No matching result are shown under History list
ACTUAL
No matter what you type that the first entries in the History list are always shown

The user story you quote is about not showing headings for dates if there were no page visits on that date, this is implemented.
Awesomescreen results not working from the history and bookmarks tab is a separate issue (bug 809145) but has already been fixed in the latest build.
