When there are multiple contacts per letter, the line shown above the contact is shorter and the hit area size is aligned with it. Should we adapt the hit area depending on that?
That's correct. All the dividers should have the same width. The divider line currently used to separate contacts is shorter than the one used for titles. See the attached screenshot.
