Description

We need the main FirefoxOS page to be available in Portuguese. The page is ready for localization and available on the staging server at this address:
https://www.allizom.org/b/pt-BR/firefoxos/

The file to translate is short and is in the firefoxos folder in your svn repository:

FYI, I added a line in r111086 which is just a tag you don't need to touch and that will allow activating your page this week on production only for your locale. If you need to make further edits to this page in th future, please svn up before to get my change.

mmm, I just pushed Reuben's commit to production, I am going to have dinner now, if you decide on changin it back to lowercase, I can push that later, no problem :)

In case it helps, in French we use lowercase when Web is an adjective and uppercase when it is a noun, /ex:
Navigateur web
Le Web ouvert.

Web is a proper noun, it's the short form of World Wide Web. Notice how it's capitalized in the English page.

Web is a simple noun, regardless of what it stands for. It should be written lowercase the same way 'internet' should.

By the way, notice the way something is written in English is not a good idea, since - most of the time - different languages follow different grammar rules.

Colons are a good example: I see uppercase letters after colons all the time in English, but they're supposed to be lowercase in Portuguese. I also see 'email' all the time in English, but in Portuguese (following VOLP) it's written 'e-mail'.

That's not the case. Internet and internet have different meanings:

Additionally, the Style Guide says:
> Anything that’s a proper noun with a leading capital letter (Firefox, Marketplace, etc.) remains in the original English and is always spelled out in Roman characters. All other names (add-ons, themes, etc.) should be localized as usual.

In this case, Portuguese works pretty much the same way as French, according to Pascal. Web should be capitalized when it is a noun (padrões da Web), and lowercase when it is an adjective (servidor web).
