User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:16.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/16.0 Build ID: 20121024073032 Steps to reproduce: entering Ctrl-a while browsing a message list results in the message being archived. This is inconsistent with previous practice, and common usage. In previous versions of Thunderbird entering Ctrl-a or would select all elements in the region of the screen that currently had focus. This is confusing as Ctrl-a has retained its original/conventional meaning elsewhere in T-bird. Actual results: entering Ctrl-a sent message to archive. Expected results: entering Ctrl-a should have selected all the messages in the message list.
zzz2002, thanks for reporting. However, I really don't believe there's a TB bug here, i.e. I don't believe the wrong behaviour described in comment 0 actually occurs on Win7 if Ctrl+A is used correctly. wfm winXP/tb17 If somebody could confirm the correct behaviour for win7/64bit/tb17, that would be nice, but in the meantime, I'll close this wfm until there's further evidence. Please try this: STR 1) select 1 message in msg list of test folder with few messages 2) hold down Ctrl first (with left hand), then press A once (with right hand, push & release), only *after that*, release Ctrl key. If Ctrl+A is applied correctly, I really don't think this could be broken on Windows 7. zzz2002 (Reporter), you should also try STR after restarting TB in Safe Mode, https://support.mozillamessaging.com/kb/safe-mode Perhaps there's an addon interfering with your keyboard.
