Simple add from prefs, with documentation.

exports.channel = require('preferences-service').get("app.update.channel");


Happy to do it, if people like this.
The number of add-ons that need this is going to be so small that I don't think it is worth freeing it in the API. Looks like it's easy for you to get this separately though.
