This is really just my opinion, but because the favorite station list has star icons next to each station name, the overall effect is that the list is closer to the left margin. It looks like the list is centered without those star icons. (See screenshot)
My question is, how necessary are those star icons? They're redundant in terms of un-favoriting a station because you can do so from the top right corner. As a button for un-favoriting, they're not very effective because the touch zone is small and they don't look button-like. Often, I try to hit the star, and it just selects the station instead of un-favoriting it.
The stars do add a bit of visual interest to an otherwise muted screen though.

I think you have a good point Larissa. The list is visually off centre and the stars are not intuitive delete buttons.
What about separating the delete functionality and the "currently playing favourite" functionality? The stars can remain on highlighting duty and a new X icon can provide deleting.
The second icon would serve to centre the list without resorting to removing the solid line formed between the channel number and the "MHZ". By that I mean the problem comes from the existence of 100 MHZ and 90 MHZ channels which are different lengths. So full text-align: center would force the two lengths of channels to be offset by half an em.

Adding Viz. Do you guys think we should remove the stars or re-align? It does bring some "life" to the page.
From an interaction perspective, I'm good with either. I agree with Larissa - the touch target is too small and the user can tap the icon in the upper right.

There was a visual refresh of FM Radio originally set for 2.2 that fixes the alignment issue because we would have a new feature of having the station name as well and the favourites icon is removed from the list. Since 2.2 features have been reduced, the visual refresh has been put on hold.
In the meantime, I think the stars give the list a bit of visual interest since the list is pretty sparse without them. I'm hesitant to have x's repeated down that list as it looks less friendly than the stars. I'd like to leave the FM Radio list as is for now and hope that we can implement the visual refresh at some point which will address these issues.
