User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:19.0) Gecko/19.0 Firefox/19.0 Build ID: 20121125042013 Steps to reproduce: Hello. I have previously successfully cross-compiled Firefox 16.0.1 to uClibc-based environment with the help of buildroot toolchain and it worked okay. Now, when doing the same building inside my own, chrooted uClibc-based environment, with the same library dependencies and the same patches and the same compiler switches, and then using that build version of Firefox 16.0.1 the problems will start. Actual results: Firefox 16.0.1 freezes when trying to run it from my uClibc-based (chroot built) home linux distro (everything else I built works okay, Xorg, etc..). After doing strace -o log -eopen,read,close firefox it shows that it freezes when trying to read from already previously opened-read-and-closed .Xauthority file. Expected results: Firefox 16.0.1 should have appeared

Thank you for answer. Unfortunately I can't start firefox with neither "firefox -p" or "firefox -safe-mode". Still it hangs to that closed .Xauthority file reading thing :-( And now I found out that leafpad is doing exactly the same thing too. So now I suspect that: A ) Im either missing some vital stuff from Xorg (I checked and I have xauth command and AFAIK the magic cookie looks correct in .Xauthority) B ) There's some strangeness in my gtk+-2 lib (both firefox and leafpad use it) So it seems that my problem is not really in firefox itself. Im terribly sorry for the false alarm.
It's ok Stefan. The bright side is that you figured out the problem :)

The bright side is that you figured out the problem :) BTW, Im going to soon complete my testing with buildroot version of firefox and ready to send some patches. Is this the prober forum for submitting patches or what's the correct process ?
Stefan, you shouldn't continue the process here, in this bug. If you want, you can join IRC, on this server: irc.mozilla.org, and then connect to these channels: #ateam and #devtools. There you can find help.
You need to log in before you can comment on or make changes to this bug.
