Details
For quite a while already, I've noticed the green arrow that indicates new email
hasn't been updating. Can't recall for sure when I noticed it first, but it has
been a while (and is still occurring in build 2001051721).
Steps:
1. Open Email application. Write yourself an email.
2. Wait till the green arrow lights up (can vary, depending on your mail/news
settings).
3. Click on that new email.
4. Notice the green arrow.
On several computers at work (didn't check everyone), the green arrow doesn't
appear or disappear right away. In fact, we can never trust that notification at
all, since it doesn't really reflect the current status: it could be green and
yet there would be no new messages or we could have new email and the green
arrow wouldn't display.
If this is a duplicate bug, I'm sorry: I really did search for something
similar, but didn't find anything.

I installed commercial build-2001051721 on my linux (redhat 6.2). I have
multiple accounts in my profile. My default account is imap. Send my self a
message with biff interval set to 1 minute and biff did fire and I received the
message.
Reporter,
What is your biff interval set to? If you see in accounts and settings from the
edit menu. See what the time interval you have for checking mail. The
preference is check mail every []minutes. Is it imap or pop? How many accounts
do you have in that profile?
(Whoops mid-air collision...Anyway I will commit it)
GD, What type of mail accounts you have when you saw this bug? (POP, IMAP, NNTP).
There are four places where you see the biff icon (Account level biff, Folder
level biff, Status bar biff, message level biff). It will be useful to debug if
you can specify which biff you are seeing/not seeing.
And also, there is known bug that if you change your preference for your biff
settings you have to restart the app.
Thanks!
I tried on Win NT using the same build, it works fine for me. btw, I fixed bug
68879 recently which mostly deals with _clearing_ the biff once you acknowledge it.

Hello! Sorry about the delay, it was a long weekend here! :-)
OK, I have a IMAP account, with a single user.
The biff I'm referring to is the status bar biff (the mail icon).
As for the preferences, I don't recall changing anything, and I restarted my
application often enough to consider the bug you mention out of the equation.
Hope this helps! :-)

builid: 2001052308 on linux
You must have a 10 min biff interval which is the default settings. Biff icon
appearred in all 4 places when the new message showed up. marking this

I'm using today's build (2001052411) and I've set it up to check emails every 2
minutes.
The problem still occurs: the notification on the status bar doesn't reflect the
current status of emails. As it is, I currently have 3 unopened emails in my
mailbox and there's a green arrow near the "Inbox", but the notification on the
status bar is not reflecting that. This definitely doesn't "workforme". :-(
