User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:20.0) Gecko/20121129 Firefox/20.0 Build ID: 20121129074803 Steps to reproduce: Hi, I'm Using UBUNTU 10.04 LTS. I have Firefox stable and Firefox Nightly. Firefox stable installed by Ubuntu default, i update to Firefox 17. I installed Firefox Nightly in OPT folder. Now the problem is i can't able to run both the Firefox(stable and nightly) together. I'm running/opening Firefox Nightly via terminal. If i try to open Firefox Stable and Nightly same time. Firefox Stable opens and freezes and FF nightly is not opening. If i'm using FF Nightly and try to open Firefox stable is not opening, instead Firefox nightly is opening. I know surely ie., they are not installed in the same folder.
This is not a support website. First of all, you probably don't want run both browsers on the same profile. This is impossible because the profile is locked. And besides, 2 different versions on the same profile (even if not run simultaneously) might cause problems when they're trying to modify the profile, which is not always backwards compatible. Second, you need to use the -no-remote flag on the commandline if you want to open 2 browsers together. That's because the 2nd browser will exit immediately, and cause the first one to open a window. That's not a bug, it's on purpose. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Opening_a_new_instance_of_your_Mozilla_application_with_another_profile
