817987 - [Social API] Warning message to activate FB chat half covers text

Steps to reproduce:

I enabled the social API in the about:config [social.active and sociale.enabled TRUE]. I then disabled the side-bar because I don't want FB chat on. I only use messages, not chat. I clicked on the message button, then clicked on a friend to send a message.


Actual results:

The chat/message window appeared at the bottom of the page. I clicked on that to maximize it (I reckon that this behaviour is not natural as well, it requires an extra click for no reason, but that's another point). A warning message just between the old text lines and the input field reads (translated from italian): "To chat with your friends, *activate the chat* [this is clickable]". This warning covers the last line of the message above, which is unreadable. There's no way to scroll down more.


Expected results:

The warning shouldn't be there at all. I can communicate with my FB friends without the need to have the chat on, through regular messages.
The warning shouldn't cover the text above.

I was unable to reproduce this with Firefox 20.0 from MacOSX 10.8.2.  

filippologli, are you still seeing this bug? It would be great if you could take a look and let us know.

SocialAPI was removed from Firefox 57 and is no longer available in any current release.
