Details
From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux 2.4.3-20mdk i686; en-US; rv:0.9+) Gecko/20010518 BuildID: 2001051821 Konqueror web browser (comes with kde) has a X button on the left of the url, so you can delete the url on the display and then you can paste a new url in. This is NECESSARY in linux because if you click on the actual url to delete it, XFree86 copies the old url to the clipboard, and then you can't paste the new url in the url windows. This is a linux/unix only feature request!!! Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Click on the url window to erase the url and paste the new one 2.Erase the url and try to paste the new one Actual Results: Since XFree86 copies the old url to the clipboard, the new one is lost Expected Results: I expected this same result, because of the way XFree86 handles text clipboard-monitoring. Konqueror web browser has a very nice workaround for this. A X button to delete the old url so you can paste the new url in.
dup of bug 24651, marked "wontfix". I like the idea though. The Windows user who marked 24651 wontfix may not have considered the auto-copy on selection that takes place on *nix systems. Reopening that one for reconsideration. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 24651 ***
