This is probably just a matter of personal taste, but I think the thumbnails look ugly at certain proportions and they would look better if they kept their dimensions after a resize.

Why did you resize the window like this? If it's for splitting the screen, i.e. if you actually want to browse like this, then displaying the thumbnails like this seems more user friendly than requiring you to scroll when opening a new tab.

I am proposing the thumbnails still get resized when the window gets resized but I am proposing they keep their Width/Height ratio.
So in this particular case, I am saying the thumbnails should still shrink when the window shrinks along the Y axis so there wouldn't be any scrollbars, but I am saying they should also shrink proportionally along the X axis to maintain a constant Width/Height ratio.
