I have firefox release (17.0) installed on my galaxy s3 and I load up bugzilla to search for a bug at https://bugzilla.mozilla.org. The problem is when I tap in the text field to enter the search criteria, I get a keyboard and type the string in, but it never displays in the UI. Assuming this is a display problem I click the 'quick search' button and it pops up an error that I need to provide text.

Does Nightly work?
Component: General → Keyboards and IME
I verified this is broken on nightly: twitter.com (can't login) bugzilla.mozilla.org (can't search) linkedin.com (can't login)

(In reply to Joel Maher (:jmaher) from comment #2) > I verified this is broken on nightly: > twitter.com (can't login) > bugzilla.mozilla.org (can't search) > linkedin.com (can't login) Do you have "Don't keep activities" in Developer options enabled (i.e. Bug 819073)? That's the only instance I know where something like this happens.

I don't know where the developer options are, I don't see an option for this in the settings screen, and going to about:config doesn't allow me to enter text in to find a pref.

You have to type some secret codes to show dev options (I think its open Android Settings->About device->Tap Android version 7 times...). But its probably best to not expose them if you don't need them. I have an S3 and don't see this problem though. What keyboard are you using, and what settings are set for it? For instance, I can go to Android Settings->Language and input->Gear next to Samsung keyboard and see I have predictive text on, T9 Trace, Handwriting, Voice input, Auto cap, Auto punctuation, etc. etc.
removing this magical setting solves all my problems on my s3. Luckily there are fixes in place to fix this, tomorrow will be a good day ;)
Bug 819073 landed on m-c today. Should be in nightly soon!
