if i get my new messages and ster to read them i click on messge and after tha i
delete it..and mozilla goes to down to old messages and qshow them
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.start mail , get new messages
2.open first, read it , delete it or go to next unreaded
3.delete it
Actual Results: mozilla goes to previous readed mesage
Expected Results: i think mozilla must show next unreaded new message
By design we don't go to the next unread message after a deletion. We usually go
to the next message in the list, or upward to previous if you've deleted at the
bottom of a list.
I personally wouldn't want to navigation to kick in on every deletion.

I agree with laurel. But changing the bug status from unconfirmed since this is
a new feature request.

I think I know what the reporter means.
If you reverse the sort order with the latest message first (on top) it is not
such a good idea to go to the next message downward when deleting a mail. You
usually start reading the oldest of the unread and delete them as you go.
This works good when you have the newest mail on the bottom of the list because
you get the next unread but with reverse sort order you get the previously read
message.
I couldn't find any bug on this and it would be a nice feature for both mozilla
and Thunderbird.

I think you're correct that reporter is primarily concerned with the direction
in which the 'next' message is selected; hence, the dupe.
There is also bug 65823 about going to the next UNREAD (whichever direction that
turns out to be).
