(spawned off from bug 798846) STR: 1. open a new window 2. in a sub-menu in the bookmark menu, click "open all in tabs", do this a few times to make sure the tab bar is "filled out" also after you close a few tabs 3. click on tab somewhere in the middle, close it 4. move the mouse away from the tab bar so that the tab resize animation starts 5. move the mouse back over the tab to the left of the one that is now the current one => the tab to left of the one you're now hovering gets darker - moving the mouse out below it and back makes the tab to the left darker each time (as the video shows) (not sure if the bookmark menu step is needed, I think you just need to open enough tabs to fill out the tab bar, even after closing a few) video capture of the problem: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/attachment.cgi?id=675760 The problem occurs several times a day for me. Nightly 20.0a1 (2012-12-10) Linux64, without graphics h/w acceleration.
The problem only occurs with this non-default preference setting: gfx.xrender.enabled = false
Severity: normal → minor
Reproduced using ftp builds since the issue was not consistently reproducible in the builds generated by mozregression. Last good nightly: 2012-11-14 First bad nightly: 2012-11-15 Pushlog: http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/pushloghtml?fromchange=dd68409d7810&tochange=a761bfc192b5
There's a lot of stuff in that regression window and nothing was super obvious to me.
Summary: Tab header not repainted → Tab header not repainted without XRender
Ok, I'll try bisecting further and come back with the results.

I encounter the following error each time I try to build for any changeset in this regression window: File "/home/petrutarasa/mozilla-central/build/virtualenv/populate_virtualenv.py", line 105, in create raise Exception('Error creating virtualenv.') Exception: Error creating virtualenv.
I tried on a different computer, but still couldn't obtain the builds. Could someone please assist me in solving this virtualenv problem? Or if someone else manage to bisect, please post the results. Thank you.
Closing this out due to lack of activity. Feel free to reopen if it still reproduces.
