Steps to reproduce:

I opened the website Calciomercato.com (a very hard coded javascript website)


Actual results:

Firefox freezes and start consuming all the resources of my PC, making it useless. I can't even open the task manager to kill Firefox (neither using CTRL+SHIFT+ESC nor CTRL+ALT+DEL).


Expected results:

Navigating the site as I normally do on Firefox.

It doesn't crash for me with a new profile.
With the bunch of add-ons you have, it's likely caused by one of them.

Does it happen in Safe Mode (see https://support.mozilla.org/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode)?
Can you provide the crash ID from about:crashes?

Exactly Aleksej! It's not a crash (about:crashes->"No crash reports have been submitted.") but a general hang. I open that website daily, always with the same extensions, so I can do the test in Safe Mode but trust me the issue resides in some changes within the Firefox core (probably in the JS engine) that makes this site, that over uses Javascript, to consume all the resources of Windows and simple collapse the whole system giving you only one option: forcing computer restart.

I'm starting to think the the problem is not with the site but with a advertisement system they use sometimes. Today the site works without issues (even with all the add-ons enabled).

The bug had disappeared & returned to show yesterday. So the possibilities are two: the issue come from the latest changes in Firefox or it's an specific problem with something that is being displayed temporarily on the website (e.g. some ads that use JS).

I'm going to attach a txt including one of the ads script.

Hi Scoobidiver, no it didn't happen using the Safe Mode but today I just did something that unveiled the possible mistake I forced Shockwave plugin to stop after a long hang so it crashed giving me that the actual problem is the interaction between the flash ads with the Shockwave plugin. Maybe you could do something to avoid this kind of behaviours by setting a timeout like the one you do when a normal flash that don't use Shockwave stop responding. I already reported this to Adobe but maybe a little more of pressure by your side could help better.

Same results on Latest Nightly (2013-02-18) as I mentioned in Comment 4.

Scoobi can we set this as Resolved Incomplete as long we don't have enought info about crash signature or some real STR that can help us in reproducing? Following STR from Comment 0 and a dirty profile, FF uses normal memory usage. I'd done some exploratory around this URL but with no results.

I'm using Inlel(R) Core(TM) i5-3470 CPU @ 3.2GHz 3.6Ghz
