We need to do outreach around bug 822438 for onet.pl (the largest web portal in Poland http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Onet.pl) - something changed on their site around 12/15, causing top crasher bug 822438. We'd like to get in contact with them and hopefully figure out what they changed on their end.

I filed a bug on their contact page informing them about the problem and its importance. I gave them links to both both the relevant Bugzilla bugs and email address of myself and Alex. I do not have high hopes as it is a corporation we are dealing with and for them I look just like any other customer. I'll call them tomorrow morning and I'll try to get to someone from their Webadmin team. Wish me luck :-)

Jacek: did you contact http://www.dreamlab.pl/kontakt/ ? Those seem to be the guys who're working on onet.pl codebase.

onet.pl may have pulled back the changes that caused the top crash in bug 822438. Please see https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=822438#c9. It would be great to know if they pulled anything back because of the crashing, and what changes they made.

I could not get to them by phone but I've got an email acknowledging my report saying it has been passed on to the technical team. So this is most probably the reason crashes ended. I'm not certain if I'll get them to admit what they did as helpful as this would be to Firefox developers.

The crash rate was only high on the 15th and 16th, so they probably pulled it back before you reported this. We still would like to know what changes they made, if possible, or even if they know how they triggered those crashes, so we could get a testcase and a fix out of it - anyone else could hit this as well with changes on their website.

I received an email response from the onet.pl developers. They sent an example URL of Firefox crashing page: http://wiadomosci.onet.pl/swiat/usa-strzelanina-w-szkole-w-stanie-connecticut,1,5331851,wiadomosc.html They suspect the culprit files are: http://lib.onet.pl/mvp/_s/js/compiled/80241171212102,mvp-hsalf-thgilrevlis.min.js and http://ocdn.eu/resources/usttemplateengine/ust.template-engine/resource/none/0.88/6d2b7ab7710f2de669e7fc28f589b5ff/ex-wiadomosci-pack-detail.js They also ask us for help as they themselves are not sure what and why started crashing Firefox and would like to avoid repeating that. I hope that helps.

Does this one contain the fix already?

In any case, in 23, we have thrown out the JIT that crashed there, and we don't know if the new one does or not, so let's close this down.
