Actual results:

Background image corruption (see screenshot). This sometimes fixes itself on redraw when scrolling or resizing the window.


Expected results:

No background image corruption. I’m running Fx Aurora 19 on mac (Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.8; rv:19.0) Gecko/20121218 Firefox/19.0). Driver details:

Seems to be wfm with Firefox trunk and OSX10.8
Is this intermittent, very frequently or always happening ?

Of those options I’d go for ‘very frequently’, but it depends on window size. A smaller window makes it less likely to see it, a bigger one makes it almost guarenteed. I’m guessing it’s a driver issue rather than a Firefox issue for what it’s worth, although Chrome doesn’t have any problems. I’m on 10.8.2 too.

I’ll check latest trunk later when I get through my workload.

I’m using a mid-2010 iMac; the GPU is reported as ‘ATI Radeon HD 5750 1024 MB’

Does it happen if your disable hardware acceleration in Firefox? (Options > Advanced > General, restart Firefox)

Still seeing the image corruption in both public 919.0.2) and today’s Nightly under OS X 10.6.8, both with and without hardware acceleration enabled.  It seemed slightly worse without acceleration, but that might have just been accidental.  Using a MacBook Pro with NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M with 256MB VRAM, hooked up to a Dell 2713HM external monitor running off DisplayPort (not Thunderbolt).

I can't reproduce it on Windows 8 with the latest nightly, so maybe it is Mac-only problem.

This is reproducible on FF 22, Mac OS X 10.8.3.
But it is no longer reproducible on FF 23RC, 25.0a1 2013-07-30.
Firefox 23 release is planned to get out on 6 August, until then you can use the Firefox 23 release candidate http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/23.0-candidates/build1/
