Remove Arrows from BM's and History Sidebar Panels. Do we really need to have the directional arrows for Bookmarks Panel and the History Sidebar panel, it's pushing out the content especially in that tight space and I'm needing to resize my sidebar to really use either bookmarks panel or history panel. So existing is this for History: Arrow/Folder/Name of Folder Arrow/Folder/Domain Name /Bookmark Icon/Name of Page Existing for Bookmarks: Arrow/Folder/Name of Folder /Bookmark Icon/Name of page or Arrow/Folder/Name of Folder /Folder/Name of Folder /Bookmark Icon/Name of page ------------------- So proposed is: Folder/Name of Folder /Folder/Domain Name /Bookmark Icon/Name of Page Existing for Bookmarks: Folder/Name of Folder /Bookmark Icon/Name of page or Folder/Name of Folder /Folder/Name of Folder /Bookmark Icon/Name of page So the question is, is the closed/open folder enough of a visual cue or do we need to have that arrow in there? Visual cue vs. More space for content. I'm voting for more space for content.
I dunno about that. I don't think we have a `closed/open folder ... visual cue', because when you open the sidebar the first time none of the folders are open -- they're all closed. And then when a beginning user clicked on a folder, nothing would happen, and there'd be no obvious way (like a twisty) of opening it. Eventually they'd work out the double-clickiness, but by then they might have gotten frustrated or given up altogether. And that's before we get on to the inconsistency between this and other folder trees in Mozilla. Perhaps we could do this, if we were obviously visually and behaviorally different from other trees as well -- e.g. if folders (and bookmarks/history items) opened and closed with a single click, and if they were all underlined. Comments?
