High CPU usage (like 50-70%) with h.264, especially high resolution video. VLC only uses about 9% with hardware acceleration enabled and about 35% with HWA disabled.

My CPU usage only increased by about 8% when I tried to reproduce this. Could you give an example video?
Video recorded with FRAPS and h.264'ed with x264 --level 4.1 --preset fast --qp 20 --b-pyramid none --ref 3 --weightp 2 --qpmin 10 --qpmax 51 --no-mbtree.
Could it be similar to bug 823168 ?
(In reply to MrX1980 from comment #3) > Could it be similar to bug 823168 ? That makes the browser completely unresponsive. In this bug the browser is completely responsive. I think the issue is that Firefox doesn't enable GPU decoding and uses a multithreaded CPU decoder instead.

Do you still see the problem with an up-to-date night build? What are the specs of your computer system?
