After two weeks of dogfooding (end of november, start of december) Gaia by an end-user (no previous usage of real smartphone, only Symbian S60 and BadaOS), the following feedback emerged on the SMS application:
 - there is no way to cancel a SMS while it is being sent (Bada seems to provide it)
 - there is no way to forward a SMS

Forward has been done now.

Bugmorphing to the cancel feature only.

This is something I'd like as well, although it's maybe not easy because depending on where we are in the process it might not be doable.

Asking 1.4 to move this to the backlog.

This is a new feature, if someone has bandwidth to implement it just land it when ready. Otherwise it's not a blocker.

In the description there are two items:

1. cancelling a SMS while sending
I tried to do this activity on my android for few times and yes even the android device does offer an option to delete or resend a sending SMS. but I have yet to be able to be quick enough to press on cancel button - i am not sure about the edge cases where perhaps sending in a no network coverage situation requires this cancel method. Agreed with David - if there is a bandwidth then work and land but i would not block a release for this. david already pinged this out to the UX/VD owners.

2. forwarding an sms
this is supported in Bug 919995 - [User Story] Forward a received or sent MMS/SMS (FFOS 1.3) in v1.3
