User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.11 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/23.0.1271.97 Safari/537.11 Steps to reproduce: Loading pages especially containing flash content or some images became slower and slower by time and by every new version of firefox, this is not a bug to blame Mozilla and i hope it will not be ignored, i really see the biggest cause of users changing to Chrome and others that the speed of Mozilla decreases release by release. also i changed to chrome but i still use Firefox time to time if its fast enough and switch to chrome when it is to slow. Actual results: for example loading http://firefox.com takes much longer on Firefox than on Chrome. Expected results: i would recommend to Mozilla that they focus all efforts on improving rendering speed and plugin speed -> aka flash for example. i know that flash is a dying technology but a daily user of Firefox may not know this and blame Firefox for that and switch to another browser. if i could i would help to improve but badly i'm a System Engineer and not a real programmer. kind regards Mike
Bugzilla is not a general feedback Forum. It's a tool for our developers and it's used to manage their work. Bug reports must be limited to single issues so that one developer can work on this single issue and fix it with one patch. Your report is to general and isn't useful. The developers are working every day on performance in every component of the browser. We had for example in the last several days changes to switch our DOM<->JS bridge to a new implementation and that should improve performance in that special area. This is a long term project over several month and isn't finished yet. The Flash performance as example is nothing that we can change because it's closed source Software. You as User should be careful that you don't install Addons in Firefox that make it really slow. Some stupid Toolbars from Antivirus Software are a good example for that. Anyway, I have to mark this report invalid - sorry.
