I have problems with Mozilla 0.9 and Netscape 6.01. The problem is that I can not use Mozilla nor Netscape with my POP3 accounts. With one of them on the adinet.com.uy server I never get the POP3 connection, but if I use netstat (on Windows 2000) I see the socket connection ESTABLISHED, but "Mail" never ask me for a password or never gave me any error. With the other on the ucu.edu.uy server, the "New Message" Window show me the message "Sending message...." on the taskbar but the message window never closed. Also if I choose to send it later the message never leave the unsent message folder, and again I get no error message. The problem also happens on Linux (Suse 7.1).
Reassign to POP -> Sheela. Ccing Ninoschka for SMTP.

Reporter, which build are you using? Did you click on get msg button and still the password dlg did not come up?
Reporter's response via email: The build is "2001050515" and Yes I click on the msg button and the password dlg did not come up. The file POP3.log is the POP3 log file for the adinet.com.uy server. This log was generated after open mozilla mail and select get messages only. Also I`m sending 2 SMTP logs for the ucu.edu.uy server, but they have no much information. Now I can send messages with the ucu.edu.uy server but only if I choose to send them later. If I choose to send it now the compose windows hungs and I can only close it if I kill the window. ***reporter had attached the following logs: POP3 Log SMTP Sendnow.log SMTP unsentmessages.log 0[394098]: Entering NET_ProcessPop3 55 0[394098]: POP3: Entering state: 1 0[394098]: POP3: Entering state: 2 0[394098]: POP3: Entering state: 4 0[394098]: RECV: +OK POPDIST (version 1.00) at adinet.com.uy starting. 0[394098]: POP3: Entering state: 29 0[394098]: SEND: AUTH 0[394098]: Entering NET_ProcessPop3 39 0[394098]: POP3: Entering state: 3 0[394098]: SMTP Connecting to: ucu.edu.uy 0[394098]: SMTP Connecting to: ucu.edu.uy 0[394098]: SMTP entering state: 0 0[394098]: SMTP Response: 220 ucu.edu.uy DSMTP ESMTP Mail Server 0[394098]: SMTP entering state: 14 0[394098]: SMTP Send: EHLO adinet.com.uy 0[394098]: SMTP entering state: 0 0[394098]: SMTP Response: 250-ucu.edu.uy. reporter, can you tell us what your outgoing SMTP server settings are? Looks like you are seeing bug 74387 or 81219. Try to see if you change the settings to 'Never' and unchecking username and password to if this fixes your problem. Or you have to download later than 05/19th.
Reporter comments pasted from the email: OK, Thanks. It correct also my Netscape 6.0 problem, and in Netscape I can not select the SSL options. (I test it only in Windows 2000 not in Linux, but I think it will works). But I'm still having problems with my POP3 server. Based on reporter's comments marking this bug as worksforme. Please open a new bug for the POP3 server problem if it persists. For POP3 contact the server administrator to find out if your server settings are correct. And if it still a problem please log a new bug. Do not combine two problems in one bug. Also download a new build and create a new profile with your pop3 account see if it fixes the problem.
