I am not sure of the canonical name of buttons on the top left and that generally serve to return to the previous screen, so I will call them back buttons.

Their behavior is sometimes very surprising. Recently, hitting that back button from a panel inside preferences brought me back to the camera, I have no idea why. This kind of thing happens to me regularly.
