Presumably the issue is that the HTML mail does not explicitly identify the size of the image, so we decide to go into non-newsletter mode which causes us to not attach the interaction handlers. Can you please forward the e-mail in question using a different e-mail client (like the webmail interface or Thunderbird) to bugmail@asutherland.org. The simplest thing is probably just to always attach the interaction handlers, but if that is too overkill, we could just consider it when we invoke the resize handler. (Or always attach them but have the resize handler decide whether to deactivate them, etc.)

(the log file does not include any email stuff; either nothing interesting happened from e-mail's perspective or the dump pref was off)

(In reply to nkot from comment #3) > I forwarded the email to bugmail@asutherland.org (sent from gmail account, > from PC) Let the record show that the e-mail was text/html with an external <img src=""> with no sizing information provided in the HTML tag or via other styling. This is consistent with what I said in comment 1. An additional possibility is to have the external image-detector detect unsized images and feed that back to our decision making process.
