Description of why you need the copy.
Good afternoon. My name is Walter Schilling (schilling@msoe.edu) , and I am an Assistant Professor in the software engineering program at the Milwaukee School of Engineering. I am currently teaching a software quality assurance course (http://www.walterschilling.us/msoe/winter20122013se4831/winter20122013se4831.php), and as part of this course, I have the students do a bug analysis lab. In this lab, students will look at bug reports from large open source projects and use pareto analysis to determine which bug types occurred most frequently, how long it took to close bugs out, etc. I would like to use the mozilla project for this purpose, obtaining an xml dump of the last 2 or 3 years of filed bugs to analyze. For privacy purposes, I really do not need specifics about everything in the bug report, but rather the id, creation timestamp, short and logn descriptions, component, status, resolution, priority, severity, version, and op system. Please feel free to e-mail me with any questions. Thank-you very much for your assistance.
The academic institution you are associated with along with any course related information.
Contact information for yourself and your professor, mentor, or person overseeing your work.
How soon you will need the data.
I would like to have the material possibly by the end of the week if that can be accommodated, as the lab will run next Wednesday and I like to do a trial run myself to make sure it is feasible to run the lab.

Hi there Walter,
January's data dump is temporarily available here,
http://people.mozilla.org/~mhoye/bugzilla/
And will have a more permanent home soon, released quarterly.
Hope that helps, and do please let us know something about your research results. Cheers!

I get forbidden error with the above. I think it needs to be
http://people.mozilla.com/~mhoye/bugzilla/
instead which works fine.

Thanks dkl. That's weird, I got to the .org directory, whether I was logged in or not and in various other browsers. But I'll link to the .com directory instead!
