User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:18.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/18.0 Build ID: 20130104151925 Steps to reproduce: Hi, Thunderbird fails to (auto) update on Windows7 (Pro). I'm using the 17.0 version but the problem appeared before (maybe from 16.0). I tried to restart without extensions, to run as administrator and to change the option for the update in Options -> Advanced -> "something like Use system service to install update" without result. I'm behind a proxy and Firefox works ok Actual results: Thunderbird find an update (of 2.8 MB), starts to download it but fails immediately with a pop-up that say "Operazione non riuscita (motivo sconosciuto)" (tr: Failed (unknown reason))
Ok, I found a message in the "Error console" that said: Data e ora: 10/01/2013 16:47:26 Errore: Cc['@mozilla.org/network/default-auth-prompt;1'] is undefined File sorgente: resource:///components/nsUpdateService.js Riga: 3255 So, I opened a internet windows in thunderbird, the News page in the help menù that opened the popup for proxy authentication. Then I tried to update and it works.
t03, Do you still see this issue when using a current version?
