User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0) AppleWebKit/537.11 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/23.0.1271.97 Safari/537.11 Steps to reproduce: Installed Firefox 18.0 from this location. http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/18.0/contrib/solaris_pkgadd/ I tried to use this on several different systems with the same results. Actual results: Firefox 18.0 freezes on startup and then crashes producing a core dump. Message produced at console is as follows: (Gecko:1645): Glib-GIO-WARNING **:Failed to execute child process "update-desktop-database" (No such file or directory) Expected results: Firefox should have executed without crashing.

Do you mean bug 827971 ? A backtrace would be required if you see a different issue. Note: Solaris issues have to be fixed by contributors
