Details
STR:
• open Settings > Date & Time
• uncheck “Set automatically”
• select a timezone with the Region/City selectors
• quit the Settings app (long press on the home button + close the Settings app)
• open Settings > Date & Time
Expected result:
• the selected timezone should be displayed by the Region/City selectors
Actual result:
• the Region/City selectors show “empty”
As Gecko is unfortunately unable to style <select> elements, in Gaia we display buttons above the <select> elements and apply the styles defined by the UX team. There’s some JS logic to update these button content when the <select> value changes, but apparently there’s no proper logic to initialize these buttons when panels are loaded.
