832136 - Selected Text disappeared when Formating

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686) AppleWebKit/537.17 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/24.0.1312.52 Safari/537.17

Steps to reproduce:

I started a new email message, typed in some text in the composing window, selected (highlighted) the text, then formated the text (paragraph, font-family, etc.), then the selected text disappeared.

I am using thunderbird 17.0.2. in Arch Linux.



Actual results:

The selected text disappeared.

The same thing happened in firefox when I was trying to use "Simple Mail" add-on. The same also happened when I downloaded a fresh linux tar.gz version of thunderbird from http://www.mozilla.org/.

This never happen with the previous version.


Expected results:

The selected text should applied the format, not disappered.

suokunlong, thanks for reporting your issue.

What we need is a reproducible set of steps, i.e. you need to give us more detailed instructions what exactly we need to do to see your problem.
Can you find a precise sequence of steps where *you* will *always* see this bug?

Are you using a (laptop) computer with a *touchpad*?
