Procedures:
1) Go -> chat -> Modify default message of the status from "Available" to "My custom message"
2) File -> Exit
3) Open TB once again, Go -> chat... status message is "Available" not "My custom message"!!!

Seems to be a duplicate of bug 825101, please reopen this if it isn't.

I think you meant bug 812503.
I don't think this is a duplicate. I believe the OP is looking for the same thing I am. I want to build selectable custom status messages like the 3 default ones (Available, Unavailable and Offline) so I don't have to keep typing the same things over and over again. This capability is provided in Pidgin and other chat applications.

The STR match bug 812503 however. You could file a separate bug for this feature request.
