If there is an subframe in a document and you would like to run console commands in the context of the subframe, there isn't an easy way to do this.  Showing the frame in its own page can change the bahaviour of the frame because things like postMessage with the parent frame won't work.  See the URL and screenshot for how Chrome does this.

Does this mean that this is now a priority for a future release of FF?  This could really help in debugging browser bookmarklets, and browser extensions.

I have used this feature within chrome more than i care to admit.
We are getting closer to fixing this bug, yes.
