User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:18.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/18.0 Build ID: 20130107224849 Steps to reproduce: I have events and tasks up in the sidebar of Thunderbird. I added a task then moved my mouse to the email message pane. I thought I clicked to focus on the email, but probably didn't. There is very little indication that the task was unselected. It turns from white to black, but the select background color doesn't change. I hit my keyboard delete button. Actual results: When I hit my keyboard delete button it deleted the task without a confirmation. Expected results: I was able to undo on the task pane, but I can imagine not even noticing that the task was deleted. It took me a few seconds to realize what it did instead of deleting the email. I would like to either have an option to disable the delete function on the sidebar or a confirmation. Personally I rarely want to delete tasks, so it would be great to have that function hidden on the task pane. This goes for the events sidebar as well.

I agree that there should be a request for confirmation when deleting a task via "delete" button.
