Probably a holo-related theme regression from bug 832321.

Can we keep it this way?
Flags: needinfo?(ibarlow)
You know, I kinda like it.

Besides, we were also using holo-light for Settings way back when we did the first tablet UI, if I recall correctly.

CC'ing the Android Sync UI guys, because the Sync JPAKE looks odd with this
Agreed, the J-PAKE colors look pretty stark with the light theme.

Marking as UX-wanted, for color input perhaps.

I made a new bug for Sync UI; bug 840267.

I think UX decided this bug as wont-fix.

Sorry to see that it has been decided to keep the settings in the light theme.
This unnecessarily increases power usage on devices with an OLED screen, such as the Samsung Galaxy S series. For OLED, every pixel consumes power depending on the brightness - unlike LCDs where the backlight is always/mostly illuminating the whole screen.

How many hours a day do you spend in the settings menu? I would imagine viewing majority of the web using a white-background would be of more concern for you.
if it would be hours, my battery would be flat. ;)

but seriously: Firefox is now probably the only app that I am using which has a light settings menu. All others have either dark or even (best!) a configurable color scheme. The latter should be considered in the long run, as it gives the user the choice.
