Reproducability: Always Steps to reproduce: 1. Go to the above URL. 2. Click on the Advanced Search link. 3. Type "html" into the first "Search for:" box. 4. Click on the Search button. Expected results: A list of HTML books is displayed. Actual results: Mozilla looks like it's downloading a new page, but after a few seconds the original advanced search page remains. I've seen this problem with the latest nightly builds, including 2001053020, on Windows 2000 SP2.

After you hit submit, it goes to a page with this: <body onload="top.frames[1].location = 'http://ocean.lib.uiowa.edu:4545/ALEPH/and_so_on';"> Since this is a different server name, it hits a javascript permission error. Dup of 52920. See also bug 45099 for more security info.
Hmm... This seems to work for me, maybe I'm trying something different? 1) Go to http://ocean.lib.uiowa.edu:4545/ALEPH 2) Click on 'University of Iowa Libraries Catalog' in lower frame 3) Click on 'Advanced Search' in upper frame 4) Enter 'HTML' in first Search for: box in lower frame 5) Click Search button in lower frame. The throbber pulses very briefly, then stops. The cursor is still an hourglass though, indicating the browser is busy. This continues for five to ten seconds as the browser lays out a (somewhat lengthy) results page. The page then appears. Is this different than what you were doing? If so, please include the exact steps you took (how were they different than what I did), what and what you are seeing. Thanks!

Oops, Chris had this one right. I wasn't reading directions very well, or maybe it's because the page changed since the bug was posted? Anyway, Advanced Search no longer appears at http://infohawk.uiowa.edu:4545/ALEPH, you have to select a library first, and when you do, it takes you to http://ocean.lib.uiowa.edu:4545/ALEPH (a different host). If you then replace the host name with infohawk.uiowa.edu, leaving that huge numeric identifier string, you will get into the state where you're at the advanced search page but it is served off of *infohawk* not *ocean.lib*. Then we encounter the problem Chris was seeing. He rightly categoriezed that as a dup of bug 45099. This site can be fixed by serving all of the pages from the same host. It can also be fixed by simply returning the results instead of doing the top.frames[1].location = dance. Anyway, it seems like it was sorta fixed somehow between now and then, so I'm leaving it worksforme. Thanks Chris though, for doing the real thorough investigation. :)
