Steps to reproduce: 1. Open the Browser 2. Open settings 3. Tap "About Firefox" 4. Tap "FAQ" Actual result: A Firefox for Android FAQ is loaded. Expected result: A Firefox OS FAQ is loaded if one exists. If not, the FAQ button does not appear.
Quick update to the expected result. I now realize why the "FAQ" button links to the Firefox for Android FAQ -- some of the documentation holds for the Firefox OS browser. However, the FAQ also contains information specific to Firefox for Android, like instructions for using the Google Play Store. So the new expected result would be... > A FAQ about the Firefox OS browser specifically is loaded if > one exists. If not, the FAQ button does not appear.
The FAQ points to https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/mobile/faq/?os=firefox-os Is there anything else we need to do in the browser or will the support web site eventually show the right version of the page?
Component: Gaia::Browser → Mobile
Product: Boot2Gecko → support.mozilla.org
It's not a SUMO issue. Note that on SUMO, the URL is https://support.mozilla.org/kb/firefox-os-faq
Component: Mobile → Gaia::Browser
Product: support.mozilla.org → Boot2Gecko
The marketing FAQ link is http://www.mozilla.org/firefox/os/faq/.

Comment on attachment 791691 [details] pull request redirect to github The marketing FAQ reads like it's for people who don't yet have Firefox OS and has no information about the browser app. The other FAQ mentioned is for the whole of Firefox OS and is not the equivalent of the browser FAQ on Android. The current URL being used was provided to us as the URL to get an FAQ for the browser app on Firefox OS (there's a query string in the URL which mentions Firefox OS). If this has changed then we need a new URL from Support, or if this page doesn't exist then perhaps we should remove the FAQ link.

Hi- The Mozilla.org team is happy to update the copy at https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/mobile/faq/?os=firefox-os to provide a more appropriate user experience. We just need to copy - possibly in another bug. Thanks, Jen
Hi jen, Nice to hear that. So we don't need to change URL but just wait for doc update, right? May we know who is the right person or when will the doc be updated? thanks

Hi Fred- The Product Marketing Team provided the original copy, but it appears that this copy probably isn't best meeting user needs. I would suggest either: 1. Removing the link from the Fx OS browser all together OR 2. Working with the Fx OS Product and PMM teams to write more appropriate copy given the context of the link and user expectations. I'll add Chris Lee and Grace Jimenez to this bug. Best, Jen
