Description

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:18.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/18.0
Build ID: 20130116073211

Steps to reproduce:

1. Launching Firefox 19 beta 3 - page starts out blank with "3175" and nothing happens. Have to hit Home to get to my webpage (my.msn.com) - but have to re-log in all the time. Never used to do this. Passwords are not used.

2. Tools - Options - Security shows that you cannot select 'Remember passwords for sites" anymore...

Actual results:

Items 1 and 2 used to work, now they don't.

Expected results:

Passwords should be remembered...
Used to use IE9 for years - but with the issues over the last 12+ months with Flash, it turned to **** and I changed over to Firefox... I am/was used to Firefox and liked it until this password thing started happening...
Please try it with a new profile: http://support.mozilla.org/kb/Managing%20profiles

“Remember passwords for sites” will be inactive if in Tools → Options → Privacy you select “Nightly will: Never remember history”.
Can you still reproduce this issue with the latest Firefox versions? Have you tried with the suggestions of comment 1?

I am already on Firefox 23 latest beta... this bug is 6+ months old and now I get a 'more information' email from Mozilla... wow, talk about getting on top of things there...

How about fixing Flash videos and Firefox... it has been crashing for over 1 1/2 years now... requests for info from the crash seem to go no where and no one wants to fix it... seems to be a memory issue, but guess you already know that... any web page that has a video (cbssports.com, msn.com, etc.) crashes the page over and over... what ****... IE9 works fine with videos, so guess what - dumping Firefox...
We are trying to understand how to reproduce the problem for fixing it.
As for comment 1 we need to remove first other possible origins of your problem and understand what's the origin point to fix it.
Hi reporter,

I have tested the mentioned issues on latest Firefox release (43.0.4) and latest Nightly (46.0a1) and could not reproduce it. I set as homepage my.msn.com, restarted Firefox browser and the set homepage was correctly loaded, no blank page opened. And the “Remember password for sites” works properly now.

Firefox: 43.0.4, Build ID: 20160105164030, User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:43.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/43.0
Firefox: 46.0a1, Build ID: 20160112030227, User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:46.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/46.0

Can you please test this on the latest Firefox release (43.0.4) or latest Nightly (46.0a1, https://nightly.mozilla.org/) and tell me if this still reproduces for you ? When doing this please use a new fresh Firefox profile, maybe also in safe mode (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-and-diagnose-firefox-problems).

Thanks,
Cosmin.
