If I open a message in its own window by double-clicking it, it is loaded in the message pane (preview pane?) as well. Now if I delete the current message in the new window as I go on to the other messages, the message pane still shows the original message. Also when on the last message, hitting the delete button in the new window deletes the message, but the open window shows no indication and continues to display the same message.
The bug persists in build 20010617 Even the title bar of the main mail window shows the subject of the deleted, now non-existent message. The window in which the mails were being read should close when the last message is deleted. Also the preview pane in the main mail window should turn blank. Instead it continues to show the very first message, which was loaded after the first click, when I use the double click to open messages in a new window.
Marking NEW i see this as well but i think this is UI discussion rather then a bug. Moving there.

No, it's not a UI discussion, it's a pretty straightforward bug. Deleting a message from the three-pane window works fine; it updates the standalone message window as expected. But deleting a message from the standalone message window does not work properly; it leaves no selection in the thread pane of the three-pane window, and the deleted message remains displayed in the message pane. --> Mail Window: Front End.
