Currently there is a slight delay when tapping our list items (awesomebar, tabs lists etc), which keeps us from triggering an accidental highlight when a user actually means to scroll. Problem is, it makes the UI feel laggy. I noticed today that the rest of Android actually seems to distinguish between quick taps and longer taps that might imply a scroll is about to start. See for example Android Settings. We should try to do the same in our UI.
