STR: 1. Kill Firefox process 2. Start Firefox 3. Rotate about:home screen to landscape orientation 4. Try to open dropdown menu RESULT: The menu does not open and Firefox hangs. If you open the menu in portrait orientation before rotating to landscape, then the menu opens correctly.
My bug sounds related bug 838202
Yes, these bugs sound like the same problem. mfinkle can repro this bug on his Galaxy Nexus (which has a software menu button), but not Nexus S (which has a hardware menu button). He could not repro with an old build from 2012-01-02, so the regression range is between January 2 and February 5.
The regression window for this issue is: 1.m-c good build: 2013/01/20 bad build 2013/01/21 possible push-log: http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/pushloghtml?fromchange=01a8559f5560&tochange=01c964705be7 2.inbound good build:1358594412 bad build: 1358611875 possible push-log: http://hg.mozilla.org/integration/mozilla-inbound/pushloghtml?fromchange=01a8559f5560&tochange=02e12a80aef9
Still an issue, fx22 now affected
(In reply to Andreea Pod from comment #3) > 2.inbound > good build:1358594412 > bad build: 1358611875 There are no folders with these names at http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mobile/tinderbox-builds/mozilla-inbound-android/ > > possible push-log: > http://hg.mozilla.org/integration/mozilla-inbound/ > pushloghtml?fromchange=01a8559f5560&tochange=02e12a80aef9 This is empty

The mozilla-inbound builds are not available. Mozilla-Central pushlog: http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/pushloghtml?fromchange=01a8559f5560&tochange=02e12a80aef9 Kats do you see anything that stands out or should we go into the hg bisect?

Nothing particular jumps out. Sriram had a bunch of UI-related patches which are possibly relevant but I would prefer to bisect further.
I believe bug 844471 and bug 838202 are actually duplicates of this bug. 844471 also has pushlog similar to this already established.

I dont get a hang at all, Nightly (03/11). I still do see the landscape menu visibility issues, I showcased to Lucas last week. Bug 838202 sounds like a dupe of bug 844471.
I'm going to dupe since the symptom is the same minus the reported hang

The hang may only be persived as a hang since if the user tries to scroll the page he would scroll an invisible menu and this would look like the page is actually not scrolled. At least this is the behavior I see on Nighlty, Aurora and Beta on the LG Nexus 4 (Android 4.2)

Sorry I did not meen to mark it fixed. Changing back to duplicate.
Resolution: FIXED → DUPLICATE
Removing regressionwindow-wanted since this a duplicate.
