c-c fails to package thunderbird since the landing of new packager code, see http://buildbot.rhaalovely.net/builders/comm-central-amd64/builds/634/steps/package/logs/stdio. Backporting bug 745998 to mail/installer/package-manifest.in fixes the issue for me.
