Many of the articles on http://finance.yahoo.com are Yahoo Finance Vision
articles. If you click on an article Yahoo sniffs the version number and says
you must use 4.x or I.E.

I visited yahoo finance vision with a nscp commercial build 2002 01 23 04/win2k,
with jre 1.4 rc0 and without windows media player installed. It rejected me
until I switched my ua string to nav4 (see
http://mozilla-evangelism.bclary.com/sidebars/). I was then able to use finance
vision to view videos, run the applet, etc. The only issue was that I could not
view archived videos since they are only available in windows media player format.

I then installed windows media player 7.1 and revisited. The page now does not
work for me at all due to

Error: document.appObs.setByProxyDSScriptCommandObserver is not a function
Source File: http://vision.yahoo.com/web/ns/media.html
Line: 6

Error: document.WMPlay.Open is not a function
Source File: http://vision.yahoo.com/web/ns/media.html
Line: 88

Obvious layer related calls not supported by Gecko. It does appear that yahoo
vision defaults to windows media player if it is installed and that it attempts
to script windows media player.

More tests are required to see if 094 branch builds with JRE 1.3 are able to
access finance vision without windows media player.
On attempting to connect to yahoo vision a second time using nscp commercial/jre
1.4 and with windows media player I was able to choose my player (real) and
connection type again however was unable to play any video. When attempting to
view any video, the player/connection alert window would appear again

Error: alertwin is not defined

jre 1.3.1 and the wm plugin files removed, nothign works, just js errors everywhere.
