As a user, I would like to be able to rescale image email attachments to save on data costs and speed up the transmission of emails.

Since we have edit features in gallery, should this be done in Gallery? or have email app link to gallery's existing edit functions?

Yes, ideally this should be done in gallery.  For bug 838006 I created bug 838611 as a dependency in the gallery component to track the needed work.  Feel free to add it as a dependency here.  (In many cases, multiple user story bugs have been filed where only one implementation bug will likely be required, so this will be a common thing.)

Clearing tracking-b2g18 flag from User Story bugs. This flag is for bugs that we would take fixes for in the 1.x branch. Feature work should be officially slotted into a release instead with leo+. If this story is intended for v1.1, please nominate for leo? blocking.
