It is imposible to use the alpha scroll with tons of friends. There is a reflow the friends list when users try to scroll by means of the alpha scroll bar

it seems this is due to a Gecko regression as there have not been changes in this code since months (apart from adding the mouse_shim library for touch - mouse compatibility)
we should block on that. pretty simple fix and big improvement for the user.
