This will likely be a tracker as I'd expect that we'd break the various types out into different bugs. I'm also not sure this should be v1.0 bug. IE, has an excellent set of touch centric form inputs. I'll try to get some screen shots and descriptions posted here. Of course we don't have to copy what they have done, but we should explore a similar solution.

Breaking this out on its own for triage. This will require a lot of work implementing the basic widgets. We will also need design first so that we know what we want to develop.

Jim, does this depend on bug 785425 - Work - Overhaul form input module (forms.js) for metro
(In reply to Asa Dotzler [:asa] from comment #2) > Jim, does this depend on bug 785425 - Work - Overhaul form input module > (forms.js) for metro This bug is all about creating new input widgets that are touch friendly. Like the neat password widget IE has with the built-in 'eye' peek button and the generic text input with the built-in 'x' clear button. Or some variation of those depending on what our ux folks can come up with. It's possible we may not want to implement widgets like this, but I filed this bug as a place holder for the work if we do.
This feels like a v2 feature. Are there any existing widgets that are so bad that we absolutely must replace them before v1?
