Using the latest PDF.js (0.7.234) with ESR 17.0.2 on Linux and attempting to view: <http://www.beltaneglobal.com/media/the-times-whitbread-annouce-deal-with-beltane-to-convert-an-office-block-into-premier-inn.pdf> The rendered text appears to be random characters - see the attached bad.jpg - compared when using another PDF viewer (attached good.pdf)
FWIW, it's WFM with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:17.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/17.0 ID:20130107124423 Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:21.0) Gecko/20130214 Firefox/21.0 ID:20130214032850 + PDF.js 0.7.234.

Also WFM on OS X (Nightly) with the included (m-c) version of pdf.js. May well be platform-specific. James, when it fails for you, does the Web Console show any error messages related to fonts?
I'm using CentOS 5 - and Firefox versions since 17.0 don't run out-of-the-box on CentOS 5 - however, I tried Nightly on CentOS 6 - and the PDF displays fine with the built-in PDF.js and the latest development version (0.7.234) I then tried the stable PDF.js (0.7.1) with ESR 17.0.2 on CentOS 5 - and that also displays fine ... but not with the development version So it looks like a problem with the development PDF.js version and (in my case) CentOS 5 Just to confirm this, I re-built the latest Nightly on CentOS 5 - again it displays the PDF fine with the built-in PDF.js but not with latest development version (0.7.234) When the PDF doesn't display correctly, I don't see any errors in the Web or Error Console
In any case, I have no idea why this is a dupe of bug 808288.

Unable to replicate on Ubuntu and FreeBSD with FF 17 and 0.7.234. Please confirm version of PDF.js on Nightly by opening resource://pdf.js/build/pdf.js -- it shall be 0.7.210. Does FF21/0.7.210 work for you but not FF21 + PDF.js 0.7.234? Are you installing dev version of PDF.js from http://mzl.la/pdfjs-xpi ?
http://m(In reply to Yury Delendik (:yury) from comment #7) > Are you installing dev version of PDF.js from http://mzl.la/pdfjs-xpi ? Sorry http://mzl.la/pdf-xpi
Sorry - I wasn't using a Nightly version - I was actually using the latest 19.0 beta ... So, on CentOS 5, FF19.0b6 with its default PDF.js works OK - but with 0.7.234 it doesn't. The version of PDF.js with FF19.0b6 isn't given via resource://pdf.js/build/pdf.js - it just gives PDFJS.build = '2c7fea0' - but this appears to be the same as the 'stable' version which is 0.7.1 I'm downloading the development version from: http://mozilla.github.com/pdf.js/extensions/firefox/pdf.js.xpi - which looks to be the same as http://mzl.la/pdf-xpi I also happened to have PDF.js 0.7.131 available - and that also doesn't work with this test PDF file So to summarise: On CentOS 5, PDF.js 0.7.1 can display this PDF OK, with later versions (at least 0.7.131) it doesn't. Firefox version doesn't appear to be significant On CentOS 6, all versions of PDF.js 0.7.1 and above work with this PDF

James, is it still an issue for you with Firefox 37 (or higher)?

This hasn't been an issue for quite some time As far as I'm concerned, this can be closed Thanks
