Similar to bug 841350 and perhaps has the same root cause, but more common/serious so I'm going to file it separately. It's easy to make the Ctp plugin doorhanger icon disappear by loading another tab in the background which has plugin content: STR: * set click_to_play pref to true * load a page with plugins e.g. some youtube video, the CtP plugin icon should appear * middle click on a link in that page to load another youtube video. The CtP plugin icon in the first/current tab disappears.
