Could you try with a fresh profile, please: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles

I'm not very familiar with FB. Where do you paste the emoticons? In the FB chat on the bottom right?

Hi reporter, The emoticon code you provided does not work in Facebook's chat. If you paste it and send it, the text chat window will display the pasted text, not an emoticon. Can you please provide a valid code for the emoticon so I can test this issue on my end? Also, can you please try to reproduce this on the latest release(44.0.2) and latest Nightly(47.0a1) and provide the results? When doing this, please try to reproduce with a new clean Firefox profile, maybe even in safe mode, as some of this issues may be caused by third party installed add-ons or custom settings(https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-and-diagnose-firefox-problems). Thanks, Paul.
Marking this as Resolved: Incomplete due to the lack of response from the reporter. If anyone can still reproduce it on latest versions, feel free to reopen the issue and provide more information.
