User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.7; rv:18.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/18.0 Build ID: 20130201065344 Steps to reproduce: This occurred with the automatic update to 17.0.2. It asked if I wanted to compress my files. I did and all my local files and emails disappeared prior to those received in the past week. Actual results: I can't re-add or create new local files, an now all the sorted mail disappears. Expected results: If files were compressed, my local files/folders should not have disappeared. Also, in order to stop Thunderbird from going into and endless loop telling me to rename my new folder, I have to quit it, and cannot create new folders.

Summary: Thunderbird, upon compressing my files, lost my files, as well as all the emails in them. When I tried to create new files, it would not let me create them. OSX 10.7.5 → Folders and mail lost after compact. Cannot create new folders. OSX 10.7.5

They seem to have reappeared since the last update. Not sure why, but now I can find the folders.
